Handmade Books, Objects

In my work, in both traditional and “non-traditional” form, binding techniques, book structure, materials and content are equal players in the communication of an idea. My work is split in a number of directions; custom work, bland journals, and artist books, which I have exhibited in shows locally and around the country. My artist book ‘Home-Michael’ was purchased by the Cincinnati Library for its permanent collection.

In addition, I teach binding techniques privately and have been a visiting artist in classrooms up and down the east coast. I designed and taught the book arts curriculum for the Washington (DC) Waldorf High School. Currently I am a participating artist for the Taft Museum’s Artists Reaching Classrooms (ARC) program, and serve as the Chair of the Cincinnati Book Arts Society.
